| This is a "rainy day" activity that I created for several schools in the South Chicago Area. I worked with my Special Education Professor, Pete Post, to create an activity that would keep the kids busy, but would also be fun and educational. The activity has the students looking through the weekly newspaper to find the matching advertisements and web addresses. I was collaborating with my professor, the community newspaper, and the teachers from the area schools to create an educational activity for the students. Working with other teachers to increase the quality of education for the students is very beneficial for all teachers involved, and is also beneficial for the students they teach. I really enjoyed working with these other teachers, and am looking forward to continuing to "develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents/guardians, and the community to support student learning and well-being." |

| The community project that I helped create is a project that will help the students to better their community. It allows them to work in collaboration with their classmates and their community. It will also help them to feel like an important part of their community, and will so help them to become active citizens. |
